Which Questions Should I Ask Before Choosing a Camping Safari?
2 November 2026

Ask if the campsite is public or private, who carries the tents, what the wash block is like, and which meals are cooked. Ask whether sleeping mats are provided. Kilita's camping cards, from the 2-day Tarangire and Ngorongoro trip at $400 joining or $550 private, should be able to answer those questions for the dates you want.

How Kilita plans it

Then ask how cold the night will be in your month and what happens if it rains. Camping is a good way to travel. It is a poor surprise if you thought you had booked a lodge. If you want a private bathroom, stop and look at the midrange cards instead. The wildlife does not require the tent.

What to do next

  • Public or private campsite.
  • Who provides the tent and the mat.
  • What the toilets are like.
  • Switch to a lodge if you want a private bathroom.
